Lettering for signs, plates and decor is usually cut from font outlines rather than from a picture: the lines stay smooth at any size and the machine never stumbles over pixel steps. The height is set by the capital letter in millimetres — ask for 40 mm letters and that is exactly what you get. Letter and line spacing, alignment, rotation and mirroring are all here; mirroring is what you need when the part is cut from the back side.

- Why is this better than a picture of text?
- The contours come from the font itself instead of being traced from an image: lines stay smooth at any size, there are no extra points, and the size is exact in millimetres.
- How is the letter height defined?
- By the capital letter: ask for 40 mm and a capital “A” will be exactly 40 mm tall. Lowercase letters and descenders come out proportionally, as designed in the font.
- Why can't I upload my own font?
- We may only serve fonts with a confirmed licence that allows commercial use. The library is extended by an administrator after checking the licence; we do not distribute or sell the fonts themselves.
- Will the middles of letters like “O” and “A” fall out?
- It depends on what you are cutting. Standalone letter overlays: the middle of an “A” is simply a hole in the letter and is meant to drop out. A stencil: switch on “letters as slots in a plate” — the letters are cut right through the metal body and the middles stay, held by bridges of the width you choose. The mode is available on paid plans and can always be turned off with one checkbox.
